Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Review

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Review

Hello Beauty Lovers!

I've been loving my lip products this month so I've got another to review for you today - Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain.

These balm stains come in adorable, sleek packaging which mimic the Clinique Chubby Sticks, however, the product itself I personally don't find to be a dupe. The Revlon version are a stain with a balmy texture whereas the Clinique version is more of a sheer tinted lip balm. I will do a review on the Chubby Sticks too sometime.

The Revlon balm stains come in a good range of colours, twelve to be precise, which all have really cute names:

Honey - Medium Pink
Crush - Plum/Pink
Darling - Baby Pink/Lilac (slightly darker than Cherish)
Cherish - Baby Pink/Lilac
Lovesick - Fuchsia Pink
Sweetheart - Baby Pink
Smitten - Purple/Pink
Charm - Orange Nude
Rendezvous - Light Orange
Romantic - Deep Orange
Precious - Pink Nude
Adore - Deep Red/Orange

Although many of the colours appeal to me I actually only own one and this is 'Lovesick', the deep fuchsia colour. Please note that I have described the other colours based on the colour in the tube rather than swatches or what they look like on the lips as I don't actually own them and therefore I cannot be 100% sure if the colour will be the same.

The texture of these stains is sheer but they are easily buildable making them nicely pigmented without being too overwhelming for people who may not like to wear very bright colours.. The balm like qualities mean they are very moisturising on your lips and easy to apply on the go. The stain aspect also means that they are long lasting so even after the gloss has vanished you still have a pretty flush of colour on your lips. I have found this pop of colour lasts around 7 hours, however, I would be wary of adding too much colour initially or as a touch up because when I did this the product did go a patchy as it came off. When I have used it more sparingly it hasn't been so much of a problem but as Lovesick is such a bright colour you do need to be careful. It isn't a product I would use and then leave to it's own devices.. you need to check on it every now and then to make sure you still have even coverage, although I expect this won't be as much of a problem for the lighter shades.

This is a product I really enjoy to wear because it feels smooth and nourishing on my lips. It isn't greasy or heavy at all. I also quite like the smell but can imagine it may be something that wouldn't appeal to everyone - peppermint. However, you cannot smell it on application and I haven't found this minty scent makes your lips fresh or tingle like other similar products of this nature. I also love that these are retractable crayons so you don't have to worry about sharpening them!

The Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains are available at Boots for £7.99. I hope to get some more of these balms in the future... the hard part is deciding which ones!

Do you like these balm stains? Which one is your favourite?
