Barry M Textured Polish Review
Today i'm doing a review on Barry M's Textured polish. This is the latest nail craze and I love that people are being more inventive with their designs and textures etc.
I picked this up in Superdrug and thought i'd try out the yellow shade 'Station Road' just because I wanted something different than the usual pinks and reds in my collection. It looks pretty in the bottle as it's a pale, lemon with a slight shimmer.

When applying this polish I found that it is very thin and runny compared to the original Barry M nail paints, which I didn't like. It made it quite hard to control where the colour was going and proved to be a lot messier than usual (I normally never get the varnish on my fingers). It also meant the polish was really patchy on application but after two coats it was dense and perfect.

It's interesting to watch this polish dry as you can slowly see the texture changing and it becoming more bumpy but I can't say i'm a big fan of it. I think it's because for me it kind of looks like you didn't let you nails dry properly and you've touched something and it's gone all bumpy rather than drying smooth. I know the whole point of this polish is that it isn't smooth but it just doesn't appeal to me which is dissappointing.

The one time I used this polish I was very impressed with the staying power. Although, the formula is thin on application it dries quite thick and stayed chip-proof for around 4 days. This was without any top coat as that takes away the texture effect if you use it.
Overall, I wasn't too keen on the textured polish and I won't be purchasing any more. I'm pretty disappointed as I love Barry M polishes but this one definitely wasn't for me. I might try this colour again in the summer with a tan but to be honest i'm not a big fan of the yellow and it's unlikely I will use it again.
You can pick up these polishes from Boots for £3.99.
