Urban Decay Setting Spray Review

Urban Decay Setting Spray Review

Hello Lovelies!

Today's post will be a review on one of Urban Decay's most popular products - the All Nighter Setting Spray.

There are actually three setting sprays in the Urban Decay range so there is one available for every skin type:

De-Slick - suitable for oily skin
Chill - suitable for dry and combination skin types
All-Nighter - suitable for all skin types

I have combination skin but instead of going for 'Chill' I use 'All Nighter' which is the most popular in the range and suitable for all skin types.

I was initially a little wary of using a setting because although I wanted my makeup to stay on longer I didn't want to have a heavy, tight, sticky feeling on my face which I thought I may get from a setting spray.. how wrong I was! The spray works well as it distributes an even fine mist all over your skin. It doesn't feel cakey or tight or uncomfortable.. it feels a little wet when on application but it dries very quickly and you wouldn't even know you had used it. As the last step in your makeup routine it actually leaves your face feeling nice and refreshed.

Urban Decay have also got a patent-pending on the Temperature Control Technology of this setting spray. It claims to lower the temperature of your makeup so it stays on for longer as well as resisting moisture, so if you sweat, cry, get dehydrated or are in a humid, wet or cold environment your makeup won't budge.

This spray claims to keep your make-up looking as though it was 'just applied' for up to 16 hours without melting, cracking, fading or settling into fine lines anywhere (including face, eyeshadow and lips). This is quite some claim but I agree it is entirely true.

I haven't tested this for all of the above scenarios but I have been using this setting spray for quite some time and have never been anything but amazed by the results. My make-up will stay on from first thing in the morning to last thing at night without smudging, fading etc. The only thing I do find i have to do is either apply a little powder or using blotting paper on my more oily areas (mostly my nose and occasionally my chin) but these areas are particularly oily for me at the moment and I have to do this regardless of what products I use.

The packaging of this setting spray is pretty standard. It is just a white bottle with a purple lid but I like this clean, simplistic look. You get 120ml of product which lasts a good few months as you don't need to apply much at all. You are advised to apply this in a 'T' and 'X' shape which I sometimes do but to be honest it doesn't make much difference if you apply it like this or a quick circular motion, the results are just as good.

I also love that this product is oil free (as I have combination skin) and paraben free. It's always good if you can avoid chemical nasties!

This lovely product is priced at £19.50 on the Urban Decay Website but is also available at Debenhams, House of Fraser, Beauty Bay and Look Fantastic. Debenhams actually have 10% off their beauty and fragrance (this is definitely online.. I'm not sure about in store) at the moment too so you can get a little extra off if you buy it from there!

This is a product that will always be in my makeup bag.

*Note: I also always use primer under my foundation and eyeshadow.
